About this place
For a substantial start to the day, choosing a sandwich is part of the pleasure at Chaime. The morning menu offers mixed, egg, tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), ham, sweet red bean paste, potato, and ham-and-vegetable fillings. You can keep things sweet or make a meal of eggs and ham, all between slices of bread. One visitor ordered a mixed sandwich with salad and iced coffee, and recalled that both the sandwich and the coffee came in generous portions. Another mentioned the croque monsieur, bread toasted with ham and cheese inside. There is also egg-topped toast, made with mashed egg baked on toast, as well as toast with a choice of toppings such as butter, jam or honey. That gives you plenty of options for a lighter breakfast, too.
If you would rather have rice than bread, the menu lists an onigiri set with tamagoyaki, a ham-and-egg set meal, and a tamagoyaki set meal, each for 800 yen. Add-ons include a boiled egg for 50 yen and a large salad for 150 yen. Morning coffee is listed at 450 yen, while after-meal set drinks—including coffee, tea and orange juice—are 300 yen.
Chaime is more than a place to eat: visitors have noted a stage and musical instruments inside, bringing a live-music setting into the café. The listed opening hours for breakfast are daily from 6:45 to 13:00. Whether you fancy a sandwich or a rice-based meal, there are choices to suit what you feel like eating that morning.
